Venue: St James' Spanish Place

St James' Spanish Place is located at 22 George Street, London, W1U 3QY (click for a map).

Electronic maps tend to direct you to the north side of the church, in Blandford Street, but the entrance is on the south side, in George Street.

Arrival: to the left of the steps up to the main entrance there is a path and steps down to the basement. Please come to the basement for Registration at 10:30am. We particularly want to avoid disturbing the regular Mass in the church which will be concluding at around that time.

Tube: the nearest London Underground station is Bond Street (7 minutes' walk; Jubilee and Central Lines); it is slightly further from Regent's Park, Baker Street, and Marble Arch.

Parking: there is very limited street parking near the church. The nearest car park seems to be the NCP in Portman Square (click for a map).

Guild of St Clare; basement; lunch: while the serving training is taking place, the Guild of St Clare has a Vestment Mending Day in the very roomy basement of the Church. Participants in both events can use the basement and kitchenette to have lunch, which they can bring with them or buy locally (there are many food shops in Thayer Street /Marylebone High Street round the corner).

St James' Spanish Place is one of London's great Catholic churches. It is near the site of the Chapel of the Spanish Embassy where the Mass was available in Penal Times. The fine church you see today was opened in 1890. The Extraordinary Form is celebrated there every Sunday at 9:30 (Low Mass).

Of special significance for our training events, it has numerous side chapels, which make it easier to train small groups separately.

We would like to record our gratitude to the Parish Priest, Fr Christopher Colven, for his hospitality.
