Arriving

On Southampton Road, the entrance to the Parish Hall is 50 yards to the left of the main entrance to the church as you face it (i.e. west), and set back from the road.

Please come to the Parish Hall from 10:30am; the training itself will take place in the church when it becomes free at 11am. If you arrive later and find the church door locked, enquire at the Parish Hall where the Guild of St Clare vestment-mending day will be taking place.

The day will finish at about 3:30pm.

Getting there

Sat Nav. The best address for Sat Nav is 20 Southampton Rd, London NW5 4JR (map). The official post code above tends to take you to the other end of the church, i.e. Tasker Road. You can walk directly from Tasker Road to the entrance, down a footpath, but the drive is more complicated.

There is limited on-street parking nearby.

Public transport. The parish website tells us:

You will find us on the top of Malden Rd, on the 24 and 46 bus routes. The nearest stations are Chalk Farm & Belsize Park on the Northern line, and Gospel Oak on the Overground.

It is an 8 minute walk from Belsize Park Underground station, 12 minutes from Chalk Farm, 12 minutes from Gospel Oak overground.

Lunch

We recommend you bring sandwiches for lunch; you will be able to eat them in the large parish hall, where you will also be able to get tea and coffee. There are shops in the area but not in the immediate vicinity of the church.

The Church

St Dominic's is the London Priory of the Order of Preachers (Dominicans), and a shrine to the Holy Rosary. It has a side chapel commemorating each of the 15 traditional mysteries of the Rosary.

The present, extremely impressive neo-Gothic church was completed in 1883. More on its history here.

We would like to record our thanks to Fr Lawrence Lew OP who has made our use of the church and hall possible.
