Server Training dates for 2022

Server training in St Mary Moorfields

 We have booked dates for the first half of the year as follows:

26th February, St Mary Moorfields, from 10:30 am to 4pm. Booking page.

2nd April, St Dominic's Haverstock Hill, from 11 am to 4pm (please come to the parish hall on the left of the church). Booking page. Note the new venue!

21st May,  St Mary Moorfield, from 10:30 am to 4pm. Booking page.

St Mary Moorfield's is 4/5 Eldon Street, London EC2M 2LS: more on the venue.

St Dominic's Priory is at Southampton Rd, NW5 4LB: more on the venue.

All these events will be accompanied by Vestment Mending Days with the Guild of St Clare, in the parish halls of these two churches. This means that different members of a family can take part in both on the same day.

November Training Day in Spanish Place

Fifteen boys and young men attended our training session last Saturday, and we were a bit short-staffed having only four instructors! Fr Gabriel Diaz very kindly joined up to enroll five new members of the Society, which I believe brings the total membership to 92.

We have ordered, and received, a second batch of 100 Society of St Tarcisius medals, so we are ready for what 2022 may bring!

September Training Day in St James' Spanish Place

Another successful day training about a dozen servers with four instructors: a good number. St James' Spanish Place is ideal for us because of its many side altars. 

Enrollments on the Walsingham Pilgrimage

 As happened at the last LMS Walking Pilgrimage to Walsingham in 2019, some of the servers among the pilgrims were enrolled in the Society of St Tarcisius during the pilgrimage itself. The ceremony took place in less than ideal circumstances, after sunset, but we managed!

Among the four enrolled was Charles Bradshaw, the Master of Ceremonies of the Pilgrimage, as a Grand MC.

I am delighted to announce after a year of enforced inactivity that we will be returning to running our Server Training Days in London.

24th July: St Mary Moorfields, London

These days start at 10:30 am and finish at about 3:30pm.

March training day in St James

We held our training day on 14th March, which now seems a very long time ago. Numbers, at ten student and four instructors, were only slightly down on our usual expectations, and much useful work was done. Two new members were enrolled by Fr Michael Cullinan.

First training day in St James' Spanish Place

St James' Spanish Place proved an excellent venue for a Society of St Tarcisius Server Training Day. Our January event attracted about 20 students, who were looked after by five instructors. We enrolled two new members and had a couple of promotions as well.
